I arrived home from vacation with 9 days of dirty clothes to find a broken washer. Three days (now 12 days of dirty clothes) and $400 later it's fixed. Yikes. Oh, and the day before I left on vacation, I broke my vacumn cleaner. Yipee - I'm on a roll.
Conversation with the repairman:
Well, it looks like it's your motor. Is this same time tomorrow good for me to come put the new one in?
Well, actually this time was not my actual appointment time. They called this morning and moved it from 10 am to 3pm, and I have 11 days of dirty clothes.
He came this morning at 9am. :0)

I'm sorry Mom...you're always welcome to the washer and dryer in the garage...
Go to the laundromat and do all 11 loads in the time it would take you to do one. :) It would be worth it...take a good book! lol
*L*
I came home to find that my son hadn't washed one dish in 10 days!!!!!!
I noticed you are reading a Philippa Carr book...she is one of my my favorite writers.
I know...our house flooded before going on vacation (well, our son's bedroom) and it got all moldy and we had to have restoration people come and clean it up. The day we left for vacation the wheel broke off the lawnmower, the window in the van broke and wouldn't roll up, and we got a call from a neighbor that our sprinkler pipe had broken and nearly flooded our house again. Luckily our next door neighbor fixed it for us. :)
