SO THANKFUL FOR THIS BLESSING...
I have a new grandbaby - born to Gilbert Girl - a boy - 8 pounds 10 ounces, 21" long, born Thursday, May 28th. Mom and baby are doing great. No time to blog, but will do so later. Right now I am a very thankful Grandma that he is here - healthy and beautiful! Sorry, I don't post real names so won't post his name here.
DELETE
I had to delete my post on Smiling, because for some reason when I posted it, it messed up my whole blog layout. As soon as I deleted it, the layout went back to the way it was supposed to be...and I'm too lazy to put it back. :0)

STUFF

Amber and I have been going to garage sales and Goodwill the past few weeks. We've found some good stuff. :0) I buy mostly used books, but I also like to look for clothes for costumes or just stuff that catches my eye. One of the books I bought was called THE LITTLE BIG BOOK OF LIFE. It has some absolutely beautiful pictures in it that look like paintings or drawings and has stories, quotes, poems, words to songs, college graduation talks, and comedy routines about life in it. As a tribute to our garage sale expeditions, I'm posting part of this routine by George Carlin about "Stuff":
...So stuff is important. You gotta take care of your stuff. You gotta have a place for your stuff. Everybody's gotta have a place for their stuff. That's what life is all about, tryin' to find a place for your stuff! That's all your house is: a place to keep your stuff. If you didn't have so much stuff, you wouldn't need a house. You could just walk around all the time.
...So when you get right down to it, your house is nothing more than a place to keep your stuff...while you go out and get...more stuff. 'Cause that's what this country is all about. Tryin' to get more stuff. Stuff you don't want, stuff you don't need, stuff that's poorly made, stuff that's overpriced. Even stuff you can't afford! Gotta keep on gettin' more stuff. Otherwise someone else might wind up with more stuff. Can't let that happen. Gotta have the most stuff.
So you keep gettin' more and more stuff, and puttin' it in different places. In the closets, in the attic, in the basement, in the garage...So now you got a houseful of stuff. And, even though you might like your house, you gotta move. Gotta get a bigger house. Why? Too much stuff....

ROCK GARDENS
Since I've been away for 5 months, I've really missed my home. Now that I'm here, I have this desire to clean, throw out junk and redecorate inside, and do some landsaping outside. In the past couple of years, we've put up a new fence/wall in our backyard, and pulled out some horrible bushes. In place of those bushes I want to do a rock garden. I don't want anyone to do this for me, I want the pleasure of doing it myself. Here's some pictures to give you an idea:

EMAIL HOAXES

People send me lots of spam emails. Most of the time I don't forward them along. Even if I get one that has the warning that if I don't forward it something bad will happen to me. But every once in a while I get an email that is interesting so I go ahead and forward it. Every time I have forwarded an email, someone has sent me an email back saying that whatever that email was about, was a hoax. Just recently someone sent me an email about how Mars was going to be closer to the earth than ever before and it was going to be able to be seen in the night sky. I was so excited because I like astronomy and when I took the newspaper would always read the "Night Sky" section to see what to look for. About an hour after I sent that email, I got an email back from an astronomy teacher saying it was a hoax. So THAT'S IT! I just want everyone to know here and now that from henceforth, I will no longer forward emails. So you can send me all the emails you want, but know this: The EMAIL stops here! I don't care if something bad happens to me, or I break the chain, or whatever. Oh and by the way: all you people who are spending so much time looking up every email you get to see if it's a hoax - go do something else with your life!
